New Phone... Again...

Helloo~

Please don't bully me I swear I don't just keep buying phones for no reason, They just never work out.

Yes, after the last time I tried an experimental phone, it didn't end up working out for me. I decided to be done and give up for now, until more options come out. There's just no good option for Google Play enabled true flip phones in USA.

But I still need a new phone because my fallback phone all this time has been iPhone 13, which I got at launch and now is very old and starting to show it's wear and tear from all this time. (it was perfect until very recently. Either it's throttled or it just wants to die lol).

But wow... smartphones are expensive!!

Here's what I ended up getting:

YUP, it's still a flip phone LOL

Actually it wasn't on purpose, I've always thought these phones are ugly. I wanted iPhone Air or 17, but I couldn't afford it in any way, but ZFlip are super cheap secondhand because they're so fragile.

After NYE when Buri-chan was showing off her new ZFlip I got curious about the going price, so I looked it up, and I was really charmed by them. Now I don't think they're ugly, I like them a lot!!

So I gambled on it from Amazon Renewed. It was $356.58 USD and listed as "acceptable condition".

Now I'll tell you: what do you get when you buy an Amazon Renewed "acceptable condition" ZFlip5?

basically, it's almost completely perfect. The screen protector is gone, that's not surprising. I know that ZFlips are weird with the screen protectors and it's a more delicate procedure than normal smartphones, so I'm not sure if I should put a new one? Or take it somewhere to have a professional install it? Not sure how it works on Samsung devices... not like there's a Samsung store lolol.

The only issue is this deep key scratch on the front screen.

This is a common injury for ZFlips because people put it in their pocket with keys or a wallet and then it gets scratched.

I assume this phone was gently and barely used before the original owner got rid of it. So, I'm happy. No dead pixels (this was my biggest concern), no dust collecting crease, no cracks or body damage other than the cover screen. Literally over $750 off just for a scratch. (and maybe a replaced screen, idk).

Now I'm having so much fun. There's soooo many cute cases available for this phone. It has so much personality. The ability to set a gif on the cover screen and in depth customization are so fun.I hate the case I bought first tbh, so I gotta try different ones. I have already bought another on AliExpress.

If you're curious or worried about it: No, the cameras are not as bad as people say, the cameras are quite good IMO. At least for a person who has never had a newer smartphone than this wwww.
But the battery life IS as bad as people say. If you stream video or play games or anything, you'll have to charge several times a day, and even if you don't touch your phone it still drains anyways, because the phone is constantly pulling power to manage two screens (I think). It's not unusable, but my iPhone 13 on 86% capacity drains slower... So yeah that is a little annoying but I knew that was the downside when I bought it. Just pair it with a power bank if you buy one LOL.

  2. Yay! Welcome to the club haha. I had iphone11 (& still have it, I use it at home) & got myself the flip4. It's absolutely cute ♡ I don't really use a case, although I had bought one, as it was too bulky ;A;
