Minneapolis Trip with Spam!

 

Over the weekend I travelled to Minnesota to explore with Spam! He very kindly hosted the trip and handled everything... how am I so lucky to have such amazing family?

Day 1 Code 1:

Since I have such severe motion sickness I can't eat at all on the day of a flight so when I arrived (around 5AM) I was STARVING.We couldn't check into the hotel for many hours and our first destination also didn't open for a few hours anyways so we went to IHOP.

Actually I love IHOP and it's one of my favorite places to eat... trashy I know.

Reimi order: Cinnamon Roll Crepes

Spam order: Chicken Biscuit Sandwich

On the way to our first stop we stopped into the Lion's Den. 

I fell victim when I learned they sell perfume...

I didn't believe the pheromone thing but let me tell you... something about this makes men sniff you like dogs.

Our first stop was: SPAM Museum!

It was at this point that I realized my digicam batteries were dead...

On the way back to town we hit the "big yellow barn" aka Minnesota's Largest Candy Store. My friend Felix recommended this and I knew I had to go, it looked crazy.

Then I used the oppurtunity to reset and redress.

For dinner we went to Legendary Spice, we originally planned to go to Upin, but it was a little late and too far away. This place was great though and we both ate so much it surprised us. 

They also gave free popsicles after your meal.

Day 2 First activity was Snake Discovery!

I'm so glad that they uploaded a video that casually mentioned they were located in Minnesota just before my trip otherwise I would've totally spaced it and not gone.

Next was Mall of America

The main target was the Aquarium, and then shopping. 

New friend acquired.

While at the mall we also got wax hands done. 

The guy HATED me and made sure I know that, but he sill let us do it so whatever lol

Yes... I got a Labubu.

It's fake which is even better in my opinion. 

Dinner was Ramen, I tried to look up the "best ramen in the Twin Cities" and a lot of people recommended Ramen Kazuma, so we went there but... it was soooo mid. Very limited menu and nearly flavorless.

We felt like doing one more thing, so we headed to UpDown, a super popular barcade.

while parking we noticed some cool shops on the same block so we stopped into Vavoom first. Man I wish this shop was local to me, it was AWESOME. This guy definitely knows what strippers want AND need. 

I would've bought the whole store if I could.

We shared an Elm Creek Rare Candy, I loved it but it was not for Spam. Sours are an acquired taste.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped for mid meal number two: Cane's.

Since there are no Cane's in Washington, I had to have it while I was there, sometimes I crave it.

first stop on day 3 was Disco Death Records. I got the wrong thing for me and it was undrinkable... By the time we tried to reorder, the line was too long for my limited time so we just left. I liked their selection of records but I was not really able to decide how I felt about the place from that trip alone. 

We checked out Clubhouse Market Vintage, I thought there wasn't anything for me there (they mostly focus on casual mens wear) but then I saw a selection of Cape Cod on the windowsill. They had the salt and pepper shakers which I've been hunting for, so I had to get them!

Also Spam and I got matching Jade Rings.

Then we walked to ODD MART. They had a vendor market going in the back so it was the perfect day to go... and who was there vending but Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab!!!! I was completely shocked as they are not local to Minnesota. I was surprised that they said they were not sure if anyone there would know who they are. Please check them out, since they are my favorite perfumer! 

I bought from them BABA YAGA, the notes from their website read:

"Spell-soaked herbs and flowers, cold iron, broom twigs, bundles of moss and patchouli root, and moth dust."

And then as though it went by in a blink, it was time to go back to the airport. It hurts my heart to be separated again, but I can only hope it's not for so long until we meet again. And maybe next time all together. 

Seriously it felt healing and I'm so thankful for everything we were able to experience.
