custom LaFuFu

 

Today I tried out repainting a LaFuFu.

Because these soy milk and lychee berry are really pretty ugly in the face, but the bodies are cute.

So I sacrificed soy milk to play with.

popped the eyes out

setting them to absorb on cotton pads soaked with acetone

using a cuticle tool to scrape the paint off

using acetone to wipe the paint off of the face

Used gel polish to repaint the eyes.

(In hindsight, this was a mistake. I should have used paint for better control.)

ultimately I would like to make (or perhaps order) more eyes. I'm not happy with the messy edge of the whites, I just couldn't get it much more precise with the tools I have. I also need to decide how to approach the cheek blush, as I don't own an airbrush. 

I'll keep fussing with them and making more customizations. I have even more horrifying plans in store w

Also, I saw this super cute rose gem LaFuFu by MissAlphabet and I love the idea, I might try something similar!
