I faded and recolored my blonde over the past couple of days, it was seriously exhausting but now I’m done. T - T
I dyed it silver some weeks ago but I just hated the green undertones that came with that dye. Even if I dyed over it it would only get stronger, and it ruins the silver for me. Plus it’s just not my mood anymore. I wanted a warm blonde now.
I was starting with this color →
Totally mint.
I started by washing my hair with hot water and dandruff shampoo for a few washes. It got me to this point →
But there was hardly any progress… there was pretty much no dye coming out in the shower.
So it was time for the Vitamin C treatment!
I did it on call with Spam ww
I crushed up 20 tablets and mixed them into a cheaper dandruff shampoo than the one I’d been using before, then I saturated all my hair, scrubbed it well, and wrapped it in cling film (I don’t have any shower caps left). I cooked it with the hair dryer and left it for an hour. When I washed it out I shampooed very well once more with the same dandruff shampoo, and…
SO SHINY????
I was expecting this treatment to totally wreck my hair, but it came out feeling so nice and looking so much better than it basically ever has before… I think maybe it acted as a really good clarifying treatment.
Honestly, I might continue to do these Vitamin C masks even if I don’t want to fade color just for the results.
Well there was still some green left but at this point i just want to tone it warm and be done with it so, my next step was filling the brassy tones back in. This serves both to counteract the green color and to fill in some warm tones under the new color.
I put a little bit of Arctic Fox Sunset Orange (I had it left over from having orange hair a couple years ago) and a wholeeee lot of my favorite dye diluting conditioner: V05 Strawberries and Cream. (Cheap!)
Honestly this did not turn out so well, it came out very patchy with patches of pinkish orange and still patches of green underneath. T-T But that’s okay, it will fade out quickly as I wash it.
Still so shiny!
Since the color doesn’t show well in photos, I circled the patches of pinkish orange and green so you can see them more clearly. ↓
Finally this evening I could do the last step!
Another treatment of Beach Blonde Glaze!
And the final results are →
Yes, sorry for the crappy damaged curls, but I decided to let my hair rest in its natural texture a minute, although I did blow dry it anyways. Even though the color doesn’t capture well at all on photos, it’s really very cute in real life and I’m feeling much better now that I changed it. I definitely don’t like green hair on me, I always hate it when I have it. T -T especially when it’s not on purpose.
